'10 Sahara or '12/'13 Sport??
I've been interested in getting a JK for some time and have finally decided to pull the trigger.
I recently drove a '12 2 door and love the upgraded power and interior refinements.
After building several to my liking on jeep.com, I've decided on a nicely appointed Sport S, which would put me around $28K.
I'd most likely place an order for a 2013 this summer.
Here's where I'm stuck:
A close friend that owns a used car dealership has offered me a 2010 2-Door Sahara for $25,000 OTD
I's black, 8.5K miles, 6 spd, dual tops, navigation, leather. Sounds like a great deal, just doesn't have the new engine or nicer interior/comforts of the '12.
I'd also like to have the max tow package to have the full 2000 lb capacity ( I'll need to tow a small boat about 1,500 lb.), so I'd be looking to regear to 3.73 or 4.10.
Any body have some advice to help sway my decision?
I think it's a really good deal for the '10 but will I be better off going for the newer model?
Thanks in advance.

Really would like a navy blue or dark orange. Black would be 3rd.
Still tough to pass up on a nearly new '10 Sahara for the price.
A new '12 Sahara with the same options would run $32-34K.

I have a 2010 Sahara, and love it, but 2012 Sport would be the way to go. The worst thing about the Sahara is the 18" wheels, aftermarket tires are big $$, plus extra power can't hurt. Just my $.02

Sahara is super over rated! I have one, I know! I know the miles are great on the one your friend is telling you about but you can get a 2door jk now for around 16-18k used. I have my sahara 4door for sale for 22,500 and it only has 42k and I cant get rid of it! Those engines are cheep used if you ever need to replace it dont let those miles sell you on it! Lastly I would say sport with upgrades or Rubi only...the stuff in the middle is fluff that cost too much IMO!

Go with the 12 Sport you will love the new engine. I have 2011 and wished I had know about the engine change I would have waited for the 12's. The 3.8 is very weak on long hills too especially if you are towing anything. You can add nav and leather later but it is very expensive to do an engine swap. Plus you will have a full warranty on a new one. You can also get a base Rubicon if you do any wheeling very worth the extra $$

I'd go with the 2012 over the 2010
I'm in the same boat after spending all last year hunting down an automatic 4 door Sahara .
Now I'll probably do a manual 2 door Sport S instead. MSRP is about $28,000. But between the rebates and discounts, that price will come down quite a bit.
