I think it is pretty much just a standard J8 with the 2.8 diesel. I think all they did so far in those pictures was add the KM2 tires, and their hood.

Don't forget the windshield banner. That's at least 55 HP right there.

I don't see much difference between that and what is already the prototype that came out. Yeah they put a hood and some tires on it, but I think a worker of AEV or something jacked the sticker becuase that doesn't look like something they would do.

It could be AEV just researching new kits. Perhaps the much-called for Diesel installation kit???


Or maybe heavier-duty components?

My guess is that since they do a lot of work on export Jeeps, it might be something they are working on for the overseas markets. They have tested most if not all their products on the export versions of the JK, including diesels and RHD versions that we just can't get here.

That seems a logical guess but.... aren't the J8s made in Egypt.? Seems odd to ship them here to do research. Seems it would be easier to go there.

They tend to test stuff for months, and here they have acess to the DC test tracks, corrosion spray testing equipment, etc... and more technology they already have than they would if they went there.
