Looks just like the stuff manufactured for the middle east, right down to leaf springs in the rear.

Besides heavier duty equipment... what would be the advantage of the J8 vs. The Rubicon???

Depends on the details, the J8 had a D60 rear, and with the leaf springs and the diesel engine it had higher payload and towing capacity. IIRC, the J8 didn't have lockers (like the Rubicon) though, it had limited slip diffs.

Soft top makes it look like a panel wagon.

No, but with that mesh panel in the hood, it obviously requires a lot of cooling.

They're definately in Royal Oak, MI. The brick building is the one listed on AEV's website - on main street in Royal Oak. You never see too much action there with JK's, at least I don't.
