Just saw some more pics and it appears to be a similar install/setup as the OR-FAB with drilling into the body. Could be wrong, but it looks like the mounts extend out slightly further than the stock tailgate holes... and if that's the case, I wouldn't like this product.

Don't like that look too much. Plus, its not as accessible/easy to remove as the tailgate is.

Who else here can suggest a great rear bumper/tire carrier setup for around $1,000 (give or take $100 or $200). Like I stated above, I also might go with the ARB diff covers and lubelockers package and tha would leave me with $600 but then I'd have to put in MORE money on top of my future plans to get gears (which is all coming out of my pocket) - so I am trying to avoid "putting up" any more funds...

Again, such dliemma's! haha

Fox - No drilling for the TF Tire Carrier. It should also be hi-lift/cb mount compatible. Targeted end of April. That'd be my choice hands down. Also, will only weigh 22lbs.

So, is it just the tire carrier and not a bumper AND tire carrier? Reason I ask is because you say it's 22lbs. Unless the bumper is lightweight plastic, not sure how it could be 22lbs. Also, if there is no drilling, does that mean all the weight is still going to be on the tailgate? Sorta like the bestop oversized tire carrier? Cause if thats the case, that isnt going to take the load off my tailgate. I did look at the thread on it, maybe I missed some important details. I will read it again and see what my thoughts are.

Correct, not a bumper. Replaces the factory hinges and is bolt on. Adjustable for larger tire sizes. Should be in your price range and leave you a few extra dollars to put towards your next piece .

Since I read the thread last on the Teraflex carrier, a lot more people chimed in along since then along with Joe giving more details. It's stronger brackets/hinges with thicker pins to support the tire. I see how it works now, 100% different than the bestop or any other "oversized" tire carrier which just mounts to the tailgate anyway (which is the most retarded product in my opinion I have ever seen).

Now I guess it's a matter of preference. Do I want to just keep my stock bumper and use the extra $$$ towards something else (like the ARB/Lubelocker package) or stick to my initial "gut feeling" of wanting a entirely new bumper/tire carrier setup. This also takes into account the I "want" mods as supposed to the I "need" mods...

Couldn't agree more, it's all about preference. What I dug about this option is it definitely reduces ride weight when choosing bumpers. Bumpers w/ tire carriers can get up there in lbs, whereas this would let you pick and choose a bumper w/o a carrier and keep the additional weight to a minimum. I also prefer to swing my gate open in one step, rather than with a bumper mounted carrier that makes it an extra step to deal with when carrying gear. Again, it's all about preference, GL with your choice!
