I think that guy on here with the big bushwacker flares, no lift, and the smallest stock tires i've seen should try for 100mph and report back , Let us know how the ozone layer is doing

I did 100mph today passing a logging truck. It didnt feel that bad, not sure what the hype is all about. My 97 4runner I had up around 110mph. I dont make a habit of it, everynow and again it feels good.

I took mine up to 100 and it backed off the throttle. Freaking rev-limiter sucked all the momentum right out of it. I mean it was steadily climbing and then wouldn't even pick-up the momentum again going downhill a little.
Has anyone else seen the 100mph rev-limiter?

(Rubicon 4.10's on 32's with automatic. Jet Stage 1 chip, and Gibson exhaust are almost as good as my old 4.7 V8...almost)

no...

i've had mine well past the 100mph mark on the speedo... i've heard they are designed not to go over 112.. i dont think i was quite that fast.

and it really isnt a big deal.. i hit the interstate yesterday and went 80-85 for a few hours.. at one point i was going around 90 some on a slight up-hill. these things do 100 no problem with stock 245/75 r16.. and they still handle remarkably well.

A 100 mph in the jeep is no big deal. Ive done over 180 before, that was on a clsoed course, in one of my customers 1100 hp toyota supra. I looked down at 186 and i was only at the top of 5th, never maxed out 6th that would be nuts. Ohh and this wasnt using the spedo, all on gps. When you get to 130 things start to get really blury on the sides, and objects are comming at you real real fast. When you get to 160, you have your death grip of the steering wheel, and your eyes are as big as a racoon, evey litte steering imput changes the course of the car a lot more then at lower speeds.

I don't think my jeep can get to 100mph.. and my old tj could only go 82 which was great cause any faster and i'd have a big ticket on the parkway.. haha I could almost floor it the whole way to school.

Bottom line is its reckless! And even more so in a Wrangler than most other vehicles. If you are doing it on a stretch of road with absolutely no other traffic and you aren't putting any innocent people within your vehicle at risk, then feel free to push the thing till the wheels fall off. A good friend of mine, his wife was involved in an accident just last Saturday night. She was t-boned by two kids racing their parents car. They are taking her off life support today leaving three little kids with no mother. I'm not saying don't go out and take risks having fun, I know I do all the time. Just don't involve others in your risk taking ventures unless they want to be involved.
