The patches look like trail tamers. A few different companies sell them, including smitttbilt but they were not the original pioneer on the idea. They're basically large magnetic sheets that stick on and collect the scratches and debris so you're not scratching your paint. Pull them off when you're done playing and you've got fresh paint underneath.

Just to give you some input I'm running 37's on 4.56 on my 2015 2 door in Jacksonville, FL. We are mostly flat, but it was definitely the perfect match for my conditions. Not too deep and not too high. I average 16 mpg everywhere. It seems very close to stock, as far as having 37's can go anyways.
