I have an 8" hitch extender for my mountain bike rack on my Jeep, you can pick them up in different sizes usually in increments of 4". It does decrease the overall capacity of the load by 50%. Regular load is 350/3500, now 175/1750, looks like it'd be too light for your bike... It's also nice to have if anyone tries to park too close. I welded two nuts on the inside of mine and run a 13/16" bolt though it. It's "technically" bolted on so the 5-0 can't write a ticket for having a hitch in while not towing!
