Who does hemi conversions?
I read on here awhile ago about a place doing conversions with used hemi's for ten thousand. I know SLC and AEV are the pioneers of the swap i was just curious if there are any other options out there yet. I'd love to have mine done at SLC I just cant afford it.

It's a trick question.
He asked who's doing them for 10k. DSY did his own for about 10k, then Kntr (if I recall correctly) chimed in and said a shop near him said they do swaps for 10k, but he never responded when several people asked where this shop was and if they were doing it so they were street/smog legal.
Edit: But please someone correct me if I'm wrong and any of the places mentioned will do it for that. I just don't see how it's possible even with a used engine/trans, the aev kit, any company doing the swap for 10k would have to work for like 5 bucks an hour.

I think for around 10K you would need the AEV kit, and then do the work yourself. From the AEV instructions it doesn't seem like it is too hard as long as you have someone who can weld in the motor mounts. Kit is about $6,000 and you could get a motor and tranny used for about $4,000 or less.

10 grand wasn't a must i was just curious if more shops had caught on to how to do the swap. The jk is a new platform and i'd assume that eventually once more people know how to do the conversion the cost would go down.
