Is there any advantage to a 10" wide rim compared to a 9" rim. Not sure if there r any benefits to it.

Not unless you have a really wide tire.

What about on a 13.5 tire…..i have 10" wide rims and looking at new ones….should i steer clear of a 9" width with a 13.50" tire? Great questions OP.

The 10" wheel will give you a better on-road wear pattern and allow you to run closer to "normal" pressures without wearing through the center of the tread.

Realizing what is important to you and what your needs are will dictate what width wheel you should buy. I went with wide tire/ wide wheel combo's for the sand whereas others will elect for a wide tire/ narrow wheel combo for rocks. It's not to say that the wide/ wide won't work in the rocks, but you won't be able to drop the pressure as low. If you aren't dropping your tire pressure then 1- you aren't doing it correctly, and 2- wheel width probably won't matter in your situation.
