This was the first time I ever gave it a real detail so the first time I ever paid close attention to its finish. Its an '08 with 17k miles on it that I bought a little less than a year ago. I detailed cars for years, and I don't want to talk about how many vehicles I owned through my 20s , and its the best factory paint job I've seen in a long time on a vehicle in its price range. I have an eagle eye and I'm quick to notice flaws, but short of wet sanding it or a $$$$$ custom paint job, its great. I'm also impressed with its resistance to chipping. Its much better than my experiences with other modern water based paints. Especially given the beating the front ends of these take...
I didn't detail it to make it look pretty, I did it to protect everything, but how nice it came out was an added bonus. Maybe, I got lucky. It even has paint behind the hinges.
The florescent light test zoomed in on Macro mode is a good test for a quality finish. As you can see there are a little bit of wiggly lines, but that's great for an OEM Jeep paint job. I could wet sand it and make it perfect, but I'm not going to waste my time and they don't put very thick clear coats on these things so I'll save that for when I need to get deep scratches out... Its not a luxury vehicle wet sanded to a perfect finish rolling out of the factory, but its much better than I expected.

Added some sand strips to my rockers
It's been raining a ton here and my kids and fiancée have been slipping getting in. So, sand strips to the rescue! A strip 33" x 9" at a local skate shop was $6. Just cut, peel, and apply. I know the adhesive can get trashed in heavy direct rain, but at that price, I'd be willing to get more.
I put on sections that are 2¼" x 12" below each door.

Stock Hood AEV Snorkel Rubicon Decal Question
So, about to install a $hit-ton of stuff, and will share picts when done, but for now, two simple questions.
When I put on the AEV Snorkel, on a stock hood, should I lose or leave the RUBICON decal on that side of the hood? Does cutting into it look odd? Anyone got picts on this?
Also, I already bent my antenna for my windshield mount KC slimlites, will I be able to bend it again for the snorkel? There must be another solution. Saw a thread about moving the antenna inside, but the photo links are dead. Anyone?
Within the next 2 weeks installing on my otherwise stock 07 Rubicon Unlimited:
AEV Bumper, Skidplate
Warn 9.5ti winch
Custom made 12voltguy JK Pod switch panel
SPAL Radiator Fan upgrade with kill switch for mud/deep water fording
9" IPF 900XS lights (like the AEV site has on the bumper picts)
Trucklite 7" LED Headlights
Fog Light Upgrade TBD
Powdercoated roller fairlead with Delrin rollers
Viking Offroad Synthetic Winch Line
Benchmark Dual Battery Tray with 2 Optima Yellowtops
National Luna Intelligent Split-Charging System w/upgraded solenoid (to add Ready welder later)
Benchmark Evap Skid Plate
Benchmark Oil Pan
and Raising Breathers for Auto Tranny and Transfer as needed.
Hood Lock
Under Hood Light (Quadratec)
STOKED!
