I went alum to save weight. Plus i like the way they look unpainted. If you are going full skids T&T makes some great ones. I went without the boat sides for a while but the step and weight of the 4 door puts a lot of stress on the mounts. I managed to barley get on a rock ( only slid on the outer portion of the step and managed to bend the slider mounts). It was an easy fix to bend back but the boat side would have prevented it. Order them you will be happy you did. Just my $.02 :-) And for the record it bent everyone else's sliders that day too so nothing faulty by T&T

Few things on my list are checked off.
Took a while to get this done but all complete.
Replaced my tire carrier with a Teraflex HD Hinged Carrier with adjustable tire mount.
Replaced stock rims with AEV Argent Pintler Wheels
Added Hi Lift and mount.
Replaced stock muffler with MagnaFlow Performance "Black Series" Axle Back Exhaust.

So far, and it hasn't been long, but I love the carrier. very solid and no movement. The web site says 37s are the largest it can carry. I have 315/70/17. The door does not move until you move it so no slamming closed or swinging open. I have read that some people don't like the way it closes but I love it. If you decide to get one check out the Teraflex video on the install.
