Tire carrier holds the tire off the ground when dropped down I'll put limiting strap on it as well as it'll either hinge to rear or side sliders....haven't decided yet but will finish ot between now and Thursday.
That's freakin genius. So I'm guessing you did that in your shop as well?

I second the lock in place question!

I ordered them powder coated and painted the blue myself with factory paint. I'm wondering if I should clear coat them at all for better location since the blue paint is lacquer based and is very thin? Any thoughts?

Already did semi hard body mounts in rear with the bumper and using soft durometer urethane bushings in 1/4 wall 2" inside diameter tubing to allow for movement and stay solid...
Mounts on bumper and body are 1/4" steel then gussetted as well...the body mount plates will have minimum 3/16" plate behind the body as well as 1/4" on face of body.

The jk has a fair bit of movement that's why I reduced the rears movement and I'm going to replace all body mounts with stiffer setup.

Do you have a tube bender or did you get it done at a shop? Think maybe you could a write up on it? I made my own rear bumper and am wanting to put a stinger on it, I'm just nervous getting that technical. Seems like so many things to take into consideration. Lots i could screw up! That is awesome looking though!

They look great! I did the same thing and then I took them in and had 2 coats of clear powder coat applied to protect them.

Just made this hitch receiver rock slider. I still need to weld and paint it. Its to protect my tire carrier from bending or breaking while landing on a rock with the spare tire. I might make a few more and try to sell them
