I have the same intake on my 2011 and never noticed anything like that? Of course I also have a better exhaust too and together I have a better sound but a slightly better fuel economy as well but mostly it was a cosmetic/sound thing because very little seems to help the performance of the 3.8

Try a throttle body spacer. It helped with my throttle response tremendously. I also have headers and aftermarket exhaust now. But the first mod was the spacer and it helped.

Default New Wheels

the Westy 4 wheel parts shop put some spidertrax 1.5" spacers and 295/75 16 BFG AT's on stock rims
I already had the skyjacker 2" budget spacer kit on it.

I was wondering if the chip just needed to be tuned. Cause the 2012 Pentastar didn't have that lag at first.

Today I rotated my tires, changed the oil (went with 10-30 Royal Purple and a K&N filter), and cleaned the throttle body. Didn't get around to the PCV valve. Maybe tomorrow.

I made it from a piece of 12 gauge steel.

Very nice! My hinges have taken a rock beating. Might do this myself. Any tips on masking or other?

Some asked for pics, so here ya go... I wrapped the wiring in white electrical tape to help hide them. Also I ziptied them up under the ledge around the rear doors. I'm really happy with it.
