Installed Ace Engineering rock sliders. The install took a bit longer than expected but I'm happy I did the work myself.

I like what i see with this CAI... different than the others, it has this top cover that may protect the filter from water splashing from above... can I see that as a benefit? compared to wide open filters in other CAI systems?
I ask because I'm in the market for a CAI and I really like to think about it and look at every option available! thnx!

Good observation - that's exactly why I used to run the Volant air intake (am now supercharged). A friend ran the S&B on his '07 (he now owns a '12). Both of those intakes are also "enclosed".

Cool! That's one good thing to keep in mind. Do you think enclosed CAIs will not perform as a wide open CAI? Or is it so small a difference that one wont even notice?
And how did you like the volant? Are you selling it?

I have an AEM brute force CAI with a pre filter. Works awesome. I would not know about the sealed intakes but I would say that they do not give as much power as they restrict air flow. Kind of defeats the purpose in my mind, but I understand the use and need for people in areas like me where it's pretty much mud. I travel and rock crawl with my rig and don't play in the mud at all but I love my set up. Perfect for the dusty conditions I wheel in.
