You have a really nice rig. I'm impressed with how clean you manage to keep it. I lived in GA in Athens a while back and I remember how messy that clay can be. You must baby the Jeep.

Here are better pics of my rig with the final mods. Just had Poison Spyder flares and body armor put on as well as an AEV heat-reduction hood. Had been going with all black but decided to give in on just a little "bling' with the D-ring hooks and the hood tie-downs. They're aircraft aluminum ones. Done now. Time for a beer.

Hey Jay, how you been? Missed you on the OFR run. I thought it was a bitch but I think you would have enjoyed it since you're a lot more experienced. You going tomorrow to Mabell? I can't go because my wife is dragging me to see Vince Gill at Foxwood. I can't go to the Jeeper/Land Rover run on the 8th, either. She's bringing me to her uncle's 85th birthday party. Looks like my first test of these new flares will be at Candyland on October 22nd. Hope to see you there. If you go tomorrow, get a few pics to post.
See ya,
Dave

One of the mods I did a month or two ago was to swap out the OEM front driveshaft with a Tom Woods one because I guess some kind of rubber boot got torn when I was out Jeepin. I think they said it had something to do with JKs being lifted. I was three for three on needing some sort of repair after a run. Bad stretch. I'm hoping I can get through one run without f'ing up something.

The new additions are lookin' good, man. The AEV hood really sets off the JK, too. Glad to see Chrysler adding it to the MW3 edition, allbeit without the vents. Still, though, it's a great addition to the rig to give it a mean, aggressive look. And the view from the windshield is pretty awesome compared to having the stock hood, too.
Can't go wrong with the armor, either. When next year's mod budget is released, Poison Spyder is definitely on the short list.

I was surprised how much of a difference the hood makes as far as standing out. From the driver seat you can really see the bulge. I had it painted by a local body shop instead of trying to do a rattle-can finish and I think that it turned out pretty good. That little bit of blingy aluminum trim on it and the hood tie-downs sets off, too, although I'm sure the guys in my Jeep club are going to give me a rash of shit about it being too "chrom-y'. Last month they busted on me for the D-ring hooks too.
The PS stuff is good shit, even if it's a bit of a pain to get delivered (they're a little on the slow side for delivery) and to install. Everyone tells me it'll come in handy on the trail.

Ya the boot on the front drive shaft sucks, it's hit or miss... I see your from the area as well, maybe I'll see you on the trail at some point. Constantly looking for more people to wheel with.
And to contribute to the thread, ARB covers front and rear added last night, holy hell these are beefy!

I'm from central Mass. I wheel with my club Patriot Jeepers but also would like to go out wheeling with other people too. About a month ago I went out to Mabell with a few guys from Connecticut and Mass who are on here regularly (Jae, Mokos, Dave810, etc.). I chickened out of going up the run because I had a problem with my rear brake line but hope to go out again some time with them. I see that there are different groups on here trying to get wheeling trips together for Tolland, Huntington and Heat's mall trail. Maybe I'll see you out there some time. Take it easy.
