Default Insullated panels for hardtop

So I installed these last year and thought i'd give an update.

1. Don't use velcro, the self stick kind doesn't last very long. As the top gets hot the adhesive on the velcro begins to soften and the panels start to sag.
2. Glues or adhesives have the same result. A glue that I got from Ace Hardware only lasted about a week. The good thing was that, when it was hot, it just peeled right off the top.
3. So far, 3M VHB (Very High Bond) tape seems to be working good. Mid 90's all week and so far so good. Good if you use the foil backed foam insulation with a cotton cloth cover. I didn't even need to put something heavy on it and let it sit, I just pressed it up onto the top and it was locked in place. Very good tape, this is the same stuff used for car moldings.

Here's some pics

I installed the front bushwacker flat fenders today. Will do the rears soon. Here's a pic with 1 flat and 1 stock fender. Huge difference.

Nope. They are KMC wheels. The style is the XD797 Spy.

You will love the tires! Mine lasted me about 40,000 miles and still have plenty of tread life left.....

Cons on the tire- bad in the rain (almost every mt tire is) , not very good in light snow

pros- GREAT in mud, Perform very well on rocks, performs great in very deep snow im talking 3 feet of snow! very quiet tire

  • Rotated the tires (got rid of my 50mph shimmy)
  • Broke my license plate light removing the spare.
  • Noticed Swingaway latch is shot. Rotted inside from the winter, doesnt latch properly.
  • Noticed my Steering stab is leaking like a bastard AGAIN
  • Noticed 2 leaky shocks.
  • spent 2 hours trying to find an intermittant short in my foglights circuit with no luck.
  • Repainted the rusty light guards.
  • Pissed & moaned about all the undercarriage rust
On a good note, at least the brakes looked servicable.

Installed roof racks for kayaks on my wife's 2dr. Utilized a Rugged Ridge windshield light bar (rock solid) for the front. Some Swiss Cargo 3 in 1 kayak carriers on the cross bars (cheapo's from Dick's Sporting Goods). The cross bars, uprights, and hardtop rails I made at work from aluminum and used all stainless hardware.

I installed some new Boush spark plugs and Granatelli plug wires and they seem to help with the fuel economy and alittle power too.
