Hill decent control.

It basically uses the anti-lock brake system along with computerized downshifting of the auto transmission to keep control while descending hills.

Hill Assist and Hill Descent Control are two different things. Hill Descent Control is what that button is and helps to control speed of descent. Hill Assist holds a car from rolling backwards when starting out going up hill.

that's not hill assist. That is hill descent control. Engage it when descending a hill and you can focus on steering, the brakes are applied automatically. Tap the gas and it will creep along.

Be careful misinforming people of what their rig does, they could get hurt or hurt someone else.
