Ways to store tools in your Jeep?
Hi, I am wondering where people store their tools in their jeeps. I'm not talking about your Hi-Lift jacks, shovel or fire extigishers. I have all of that protected from the elements by just laying across the jeep, behind the front seats. I currently store a bunch of tools like wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, etc. in a couple of ammo cans which fit inside of a milk crate. I'd like to find a better way of storing these tools which I consider essential. I know they sell a Jerry Can that is actually a tool box which I would like to get, but I would have to get a tire carrier with jerry can mounts. I would like to get such a tire carrier but I already have a smittybuilt bumper w/o tire carrier installed and I don't want to have to get another one. Any ideas out there? Much appreciated

Either ditch the stock jack and store them in there or you can build a "under floor storage"

Jack: Rough Country bracket on the tailgate hinges.
Shovel: Bungee corded to the rollbar at the back.
Fire Extingquisher: Heavy-duty releasable zip ties around the roll bar right behind the driver's seat.
Straps and shackles: Under the floor in back.
Hand tools: Two soft tool bags, one in each footwell behind the front seat (2-door without the back seat).
Winch controller and first aid kit under the front of the driver's seat.
Jumper cables under the front passenger seat.
Also, I built a platform about 4" above the floor that extends from the front seatbacks to the front edge of the underfloor compartment. Under that platform the tire patch kit, air hose, and other misc junk gets stored. The platform makes a nice load floor that is not interupted by seat anchors and footwells.

I have a bag that my wife bought me from Walmart. It is orange with Jeep on it. All my jeep tools are in there. Plus it is easy to move to another vehicle when wheeling a different one.
