JK Show & Tell Whether they're just poser shots in your driveway or hardcore action shots on the trail, if you've got photos or videos of your Jeep JK Wrangler (or any JK for that matter that you think is worth showing off, inside or out), we want to see them so please post them here! Likewise, if you are wanting to see a photo of something specific like an aftermarket JK part or poser shot with a specific setup, this is the place to ask for it.

I have a Droid too...a brand spankin' new Motorola Atrix 4G with the laptop dock and it works beautifully. However, if you use that as your primary source of mobile internet service, it will:
A.) Eat up the no-longer-unlimited data plan (and I have 4GB with tethering enabled) from AT&T in a very short period of time
B.) Tear the battery in the thing to ribbons

Sooooo...in comes Autonet in-car broadband to the rescue. I can bypass the 4G connection on my Atrix and use the in-Jeep router for mobile broadband. If I am on a road trip with kids, they can do HOMEWORK AND READ all from the comfort of my kid-proof laptops (inappropriate websites DISABLED and/or BLOCKED) in the back seat of my Jeep while I enjoy my Lockpicked myGig for news/weather/satellite radio WITHOUT having to listen to the "Are we there yet" and "I want another movie because I don't like BOY movies" bullshit that inevitably comes with long road trips and kids under the age of about 12.

See? My logic in getting this thing is sound...at least if you are a single parent of 2 AND a businessman.
'Nuff said!

is use my droid x as a modem (easy tether so it's free!) in my jeep on long trips but that's only running one laptop. i agree it wouldn't be the best way to go if you had two kids in the back. good choice with the uconnect.

Have you guys seen the mifi's that Sprint, Clear and others have now days? They are small wifi access points that connect to 3G & 4G networks. They have internal batteries as well as the ability to run off of 12VDC, 120VAC or a USB port. Unlike U-connect, the mifi devices can be moved from the Jeep to a hotel-room in seconds. The range on paper may not seem to be as good as U-Connect with external antennas, but cell towers are what limits the range not the device itself. Cell networks are designed to work with devices that have internal antennas. If a cell phone will work, a mifi should work in the same area. The nice thing about these mifi devices is that they are cheap. I've seen them range from $100 to free with a new account activation.
