Tuffy Security Deck
#11
Many thanks for the replys, Robar.
A couple of more questions.
If you did remove the back and top of the deck you can put the rear seat back in? And how much would the support for these pieces interfere with the rear seat or the passengers? Specifically, grandchildren (2-5 y/o) riding in the back. Sharp edges or anything like that to worry about?
And lastly, just how "secure" do you feel it is?

It looks like the top opens. Does it easily come off for transporting larger items? Does the front ( behind the seats ) come out easily to transport longer items with the seats folded? It looks like if they do come out the pieces are pretty large and would have to be stored outside the Jeep if they are removable.
I like the bestop one because it can be switched into different configurations but this one seems much more secure. I also like the way the top has ridges to hold stuff you place on top. AND it looks as though this one has more interior space too.

The Tuffy Deck is all about security. For a jeep I would give it an 8.5 or 9 out of 10 for security. It is built well, but a diligent thief with enough time could get in, but not easily or without some work.

The sound is a little more muffled, but not enough for me notice much or care. Tuffy built a nice product and is very functional for it's design.

It sits up a about 3/4" to an 1" higher, but the extra height is for the tray on top. I think you will like it. On a side note be sure to remove the sheet metal supports from the sides of the box, before you discard the box. There are two nice size pieces of sheet metal that could be used for other projects.
