Well i ended up doing it. Rears i just measured out from the body of the Jeep all the way across the fender out to 4.75 inches. The front i just eye balled each side as i taped it. Im not worried about the looks as much as i am the functionality of it. Going to add some door trim soon.

at the risk of sounding like a total noob ( well I guess I am just bought my JK last fall )
do the fenders flap or vibrate when your going highway speeds?
and would it make the fender more flexible with the reinforcement under neath taken out ?
I had to replace my drivers side fender over the winter because a deer shattered it.

Mine move a little in the wind but you can hear them or anything. My inner liners towards the back of the wheel well use to flap & make noise before I anchored them now everything is all good

Yeah taking out that support would leave that fender hanging more on its own by the clips into the body.

Any pics from the front. I have the same bumper. Was wondering what it would look like.

I m thinking of doing this. My only question is how flimsy are they after they're cut?

How is everyone applying the door trim? Are you using heat or just allowing the stuff inside to it to bond to the plastic and hold it? Just seems like this will come on in a couple months or during a wash.
