I had trimmed mine a while back and finished them with door molding. First 90 degree day and I guess the glue let loose, and both front door trim pieces came off and started whipping down the sides of the Jeep.

So today, I retrimmed and sanded the edges so I wouldn't need the door molding. I think it turned out good goign aggressive on the trim and no molding.

Living in Phoenix I was told that its just a matter of time before the glue would let go, so I planned on cutting my fenders from the beginning with no trim in mind, and think it looks better that way......just takes a bit longer to complete the process.Click image for larger version

Your other post is how I got inspiration to just spend some time sanding them and leave off the trim. Looks a lot better.

The cheap air powered jigsaw I bought from Harbor Freight really helped achieve straight cuts, plus I used yellow electricians tape rather than blue painters tape to trace the pattern.

Does anyone here know of a comprehensive state by state law reference location/website for fenders/tire exposure laws?

I can't quote the laws but from my reading and talking with a couple of the area sheriffs, your tires cannot extend beyond your flares at all in any state. I went to ask about cutting mine and they told me I was already out beyond my flares as it was. But around here everyone is beyond that so they told me it comes down to enforcement by town/county/stater cops.. I know that doesn't help but both sheriff's gave me the same run down.
I cut them anyway
