I just used painters tape to mask off what I wanted to cut. Then I used a jigsaw to cut them. I did not remove the fenders and only the rear liners, the fronts I could cut easily without removal. Just take your time and look it over before you cut. The jigsaw will cut it but it can also melt the fenders back together after it cuts them do either go at a good speed or just go back and cut it again. The fender support in the front is tuff to cut the jigsaw will cut it but if you plan to cut off more than the ears I would maybe use something else. It's not hard but it can be nice to have an extra hand to help keep the flare from flapping around while you try to cut them.

I taped off the basic design I wanted with red electrical tape. After looking at them for an hour that way, making sure they were equal, I used a pnuematic cut off wheel and slowly followed the tape. Then I trimmed the inner fender linings to suit me. I recommend using a face shield and gloves as the plastic is extremely hot while cutting it. I have a few burns on my hands from flying molten plastic.
