I'm in...
Did it yesterday. Stock fenders are now trimmed. No pics to post as it was dark when I finished, but I'll get some up in the next couple days. I did not take the fenders off the jeep. I used a utility knife on the driver side (heated the fenders with a hair dryer, sliced like butter). Used snips to clear the support tabs from the underside. Used a cutting disk on a dremmel for the passenger side. Truthfully, I thought it was easier with the utility knife. The dremmel melts the fender and throws the hot shrapnel all over the place, including your arms, face, neck. I left the marker lights intact, but had to trim the tabs that hold them to the fender support with snips. I still need to put on the door panel trim to finish things up. I have not decided if I'll put the inner fender wells back or not. I might go ahead and hit the rear wells with bedliner. Thoughts?
Thanks, jim
Update 9/21...pics added today. I hit the edges of the fenders with some sandpaper and they look pretty good, so I will hold off on the door edge trim. I did end up trimming the front fender well plastic and putting it back. I also got two rattle cans of black bedliner from autozone and sprayed the rear fender wells last night. Job done.
Thanks, jim

Mine survived the weather of the PNW, an entire winter in NW PA next to the lake and the moderate weather of VA just fine. As long as you leave in the inner support they will be just as strong as they were before you cut them.

cheapies would mean chopping my sahara ones so i don't spend money since i just spent a bunch on jeep stuff the last 2 weeks. that being said, i'm meeting someone on tuesday for their plastic flares for 60 bucks. i know not how to stop spending!

NY state daily driver here, and they're the same as when I chopped the fenders a few years ago. Weather has no effect.
