Just wondering what folks have found in towing capacity after their engine swaps. I am looking to tow 5500lbs. It has electric brakes so I am not worried about it pushing me at stops just the wear or breakage. Thank You.

You will have to address the weakness of the cross member in the rear where your hitch is also. That's the reason for its low tongue weight rating. It needs to be at 500 or more to be able to pull that much. You will also most likely need airbags to level the rear back up.

If you are concerned with liability, (most people are not), the only way to get the tow capacity increased after mods is to get the vehicle manufacturer to issue an increased rating.
