Now someone just needs to mod the mount to include a swivel on it so that when you turn the wheel, the can stays vertical

If you do this mod, make the first drink a cup of McDonald's coffee....
Then use the proceeds for more mods.

He just drives on the straight and narrow. Boaters have mounts that swivel so when they are riding the waves the drinks stay level.

My mod budget is pretty tight lately, could I just pour soda on my leg for now till I can afford a cup holder?

You have to remember that although the can/drink may stay upright but no matter what you do, if you hit a bump it will look like you wet yourself.
