Totaled my 2012 Rubi - LUCKY TO BE ALIVE!
I just picked up my 2012 Rubicon from a dealership in Wilmington NC after trading my 2011 Rubi. The vehicles were identical in color, options, etc., except for the new engine. On my way home, about 3 miles from my house a careless driver ran a red light and t-boned me. I was going 50 mph (the posted speed limit) and he was going approximately 40 mph when he blew through a red light that had been red for at least 30 seconds. He hit me so hard he rolled me over, then I went airborne with a front to back somersault, followed by another rollover and then I slid off the road over the curb and about 3 ft from a telephone pole on my top.
I am okay with minor cuts and bruises. I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE... I had to crawl out of the drivers side window because the door was jammed shut. That was no small feat since I am 6' 4".
The other driver was okay and was able to walk away. I walked away too but I took a little ambulance ride for observaration and X-rays. Nothing broken!!
HERE IS THE SUCKY PART... THE DRIVER HAS NO INSURANCE... I FILED A CLAIM ON MY INSURANCE TONIGHT AND HOPE I DON'T GET SCREWED ON THE CLAIM.
Let me recap, the jeep was 2 hours old, with 125 miles on it... the bank hasn't even received the paperwork...

Happy to hear you came out ok. We don't need anymore bad news here.
The only way to know is call your insurance company. Un-insured drivers should get an automatic 5 years in prison.

Ouch. My first response is great to still have you around. Second what a testament to the so called bogus roll bars jeep puts in. The work very well. I got hit broadside in my YJ and tumbled multiple times. The halo hoop was still able to protect. Again glad your ok. And I also agree in insured motorists should be arrested. My thought is to put them away for as long as the term of the loan or until they can pay ot off to the insurance company. good luck.
