I took mine off yesterday and love the look without it and with the slant back of the trektop. I am going to get an ace engineering rotopack mount for it shortly.

The real reason I took my full size spare off is bc I ripped it off on a climb. The spare is a great thing to have, but IMO: it is extra weight on the jeep (I bring my spare but it stays on the trailer), it blocks vision and it is vulnerable. I love the look without the spare. You really don't see any buggys with a spare or hard core wheelers either for these same reasons. I dig it!

First pic is pretty blurry, but from what I see, if that is the finished product, I can't say I like the way those rivets turned out...

Hmm, maybe painted to match and white Jeep logo on it - that would be cool.

I went the no drill/rivet scene. Also went to sears hardware and got some of their biggest push in trim fasteners to put in the holes where the spare tire bumpers once sat. I also extended the 3rd brakelight wire so it now follows the tire swing to my 3rd brakelight (Gotta look real close) which sits just below my IR backup camera on the same plate.
