Vermontlaw,
I recently purchased the AEV Hood and figured since my local painter was painting the hood I would have him paint the luggage carrier. He also painted the Xenon Flares. Always nervous with matching paint but he did an excellent job.

I'm looking at this for a beach trip this summer and have a few questions: 1. Are you able to swing open the tailgate with this (when it is swung away)? 2. How easy is it to pack full to the top when the lid is half way - meaning looks like you would have to stack high and then try to close the lid over the stacked items. Some of the comepititors for this have boxes with a lid on the very top so you don't have that issue. 3. How easy is it to remove, say for example, once you've reached your destination and want to just tool around town with out a rear cargo carrier? 4. Is it possible to remove with one person?
