Threw some welds at the front axle
SO after having a set of EVO gussets sitting under my bed for a year me and my buddy finally welded them in this weekend.
It is so damn nice to finally have the piece of mind that I am not going to bend the C's. No more checking and second guessing every time I get back from wheelin sorry for the crappy cell phone pics
First I enlisted the help of buddy who has been welding for most of his life.
I then loosened the wheel nuts and took off the swaybar links and undid the shock from the axle
Next I commendierd the welding shop I work at and used there nice tools and overhead crane
Next we set the welder....
Tack the uppers in
Weld them in in increments while switching sides
Weld the seam up on the lowers
Like the tops tack the lowers in then weld them in increments while switching sides
Wait till everything has cooled and add your favorite paint....... mine is flat black
Stand back and enjoy the look of beefy axle C's

Nice job with the welding. Your buddy has a kick ass welder. I welded mine on with a 110 Lincoln wire feed..... damn it, your welds look better than mine.

He has an old land cruiser with a chev 350 I am helping him rebuild so it goes both ways
We have been talking about fabbing some stuff up and getting in on the next JK garage sale thing.... get some more affordable fabbed parts in Canada
