thinking of making my own bumper
as the title states i wanna make a bumper.
a tube bumper specifically.
but what i would need to know is any info someone would need before attempting this avenue.
are there special things that are in the bumper that i would need?
wires for anything? (i dont have fog lights)
other special bumper parts that have to be there?
and if there are any specific laws on bumpers, (delaware if you have a source)
thx

I'm building my own. It's almost done.
Lookup your local state laws... should be easy to find. "Vehicle Equipment Requirements" is likely what it's under.
No "special things" unless your laws require them.
No wires.
The only special parts are the mounts... 2 plates with 4 holes each that mount to your jeep's frame. You'll need to remove your stock bumper to get the dimensions of these mounts.

thanks for the info
ive had my bumper off once before and i noticed there were these 2 1/2" holes right where the bulges were, it wasnt the foglight spot but next to it, i thought it be important.
what guage steel would one suggest it me made of?

If I was going to use round tube .120" wall would be my minimum thickness. Some use Sch 40 pipe, but I think if you are going to spend the time, use structural steel. This is all just my opinion.

allright i got me some pipe and put it on my bender, but it diddnt bend right
instead of a uniform bend it started crimping so im concidering this a fail.
if i am to still use the pipe then it will have to be a straight pipe bumper, maybe with cut and welded angles, but bending seems to be out of the question with this pipe
