A terrible sight for my month old JK
Hello all, I haven't been posting much in my build thread recently due to some issues I've been having with my 2010 JK.
While driving around one day I began hearing a grinding noise that sounded like it was coming from the front axle. I am still under warranty, so I took it into Allen Samuels Jeep here in Tyler.
What we thought was only a driveshaft issue, turned into a much bigger one. While pulling off the differential covers, it was found that the differentials, transmission, transfer case, all of the full of water, and mud. The water/mud mixture had been ran with the oil in the differentials for so long that it caused it to turn into a thick sludge, which in turn destroyed everything. The gears, ring and pinion, all in pieces.
Needless to say, the 2010 JK that I've had for a month, was completely sank by one of the previous owners, and I purchased a lemon.
I am currently working with the dealership that I brought it from. They are being friendly and wanting to make things right, but I am sure they will try and find a way to prove that it was something that I did.
Everything will have to be replaced. The entire front axle, the transmission, the transfer cases and drivelines, and most likely the rear differential.
Hopefully it's something that can be fixed. This is the last sight of my Jeep, headed off on the trailer for investigation.

The dealership that I purchased the Jeep from has taken fault and they are going to replace everything that needs to be fixed.
Unsure of the costs but it's looking to be around 5 grand.
