teraflex long arm upgrade installed
well, let me first say that this isnt for the timid. there is a lot of work involved in this kit. im just glad that i didnt have to install a full/complete lift kit with these long arms.
2 full days of this in the garage in 100*+ temps isnt fun, throw in all the metal dust from the cutting and you generally just feel nasty then throw in a dislocated shoulder, 1 lower control arm falling on my shin and two stitches in my head.....and i would say it went pretty good.
just incase your wandering.......
the dislocated shoulder happened when wrenching down on the driver rear lower control arm, the wrench slipped and pop went my shoulder. normally it isnt that big of a deal, its an old injury and i usually just pop it back into place. however, for some reason it wouldnt go back in.... so off to the urgent care clinic i went. an hour or so later i am back at it. (this was saturday night)
the stitches....
im cruising along on the install.
i have all the brackets up and welded and painted. i have all my control arms measured out to teraflex's starting point suggestions. i have each set of arms laid out by their respective corners. so, i am under the jeep putting the left rear upper on when i hear my wife walk out into the garage.....she didnt say anything so i kept on working (there is a standing rule in my house, when my jeep and I are in the garage together we are to be left alone.....its our time lol) well here is where it gets pretty funny, my wife apparently took some trash out and i guess one of the control arms was in her way.....so she moved it. what i didnt know is that she stood the arm up against the jeep, well as stated earlier i was under the jeep working and unknowingly i was about to kick a control arm that wasnt supposed to be there.
so i kick the arm with one foot, it begins to fall, unfortunately its on a collision course with my shin.....then BAM! HOLY MOTHER *@#*!!!!..........ouch you say. i can see you guys cringe as i type this, its not over....... my instant reaction to the collision was to raise up. yep you got it, i nailed the crap out of my head, so with blood running down the back of head and all the screaming and cussing my wife comes out to the garage. she takes one look at me and says i will get my purse. so, two hours and two stitches later im back at it.
well, its done minus the alignment.
i will post more pics when i feel a little better.

I guess his wife knows him well, sounds like she knows to be prepared to drive to Hospital at any time while you are working on the Jeep, she didnt actually NEED to take out the garbage, that was just to check on you to see if you needed to go to the Hospital again yet
Great story and the Jeep looks AWESOME
edit: Joe you may want to have them update the install instructions a bit
