Teraflex Dana 44 HD Differential covers
First off, I can't say enough about how great Teraflex is. They answer all of my questions promptly and in my opinion, produce the best products out there for the Jeep.
I just purchased a pair of Teraflex's Dana 44 HD differential covers, item #3990650 located at http://www.teraflex.biz/products/crd...ial-cover.html.
Let me say that compared to stock, these things are amazingly thick and heavy duty. I had no idea how thin the OEM covers were until I saw them first hand. I mean litteraly they are no thicker than a 1/16" or 1/8" where as the Teraflex covers are 3/8" thick. The OEM covers also feel like aluminum whereas the Teraflex covers are heavy cast iron. You also get two fill plugs in case you have a high pinion axle, plus all new bolts to hold them on.
My covers came finished in black with red Teraflex brand lettering. I chose to have them stripped to bare metal and then powdercoated flame red out of pure asthetics. I'll go back in a bit and color the Teraflex letting black for some contrast.
Before and after of the front & back of the covers...
And installed...
