This is why I love this site! Next question if I do this I have a white 4 door. Do I leave them green or bedline?

Depends on the look you like, I'd say bedline on white would look killer!

Yeah that is what I am thinking but for some reason spraying an ammo box seems wrong

I had some mounted on a CJ and they aways ended up with moisture in them and rusted the tools inside. Good luck. But mine didn't rattle

Depending on the condition, unpainted would be cool. Mine's green to begin with so no paint for me. As for the moisture, I know they make stuff for gun cases to prevent excessive moisture, I wonder if that would work in an application like this?

So bolt followed by rubber washer on the door. Held in place by locking nut, followed by another rubber washer on both sides of can with a wingnut holding it in.... Yeps, only thing left is figuring how to get those bolts in there..

Default Drawing of my idea

So after too much time of doing nothing I made these up real quickly. The first one is a view of both boxes with the mounting points. I plan to drill 2 large holes in the center of the door where each can will mount up so that I can easily install the bolts. I will then mount 3 bolts per can through the door with rubber washers on both sides of the door. After that will be a lock nut followed by another rubber washer. Then the ammo box followed by a rubber washer and wing nut for easy removal. The second picture is a side pic of how I plan to install the hardware.

almost forgot, I will make the outer ends be where the latch is located and I am thinking that if I get soft enough washers it should seal water out fairly good
