Sweet ammo can storage idea!!!
*UPDATE* PG 3 has a drawing my lame a$$ made up for what my plans are
So I have had these ammo cans sitting in my garage for a while and I have finally decided how I want to mount em in the jeep. Let me know what you think. I am planning on just using some basic bolts and spacers to allow for the lids to open past the plastic wire shielding on the door. Waterproof storage that is ready as soon as I open the door!!!

Love the idea, but x2 on some sort of rubber gasket or something. Those might rattle like crazy otherwise. Time to head to the store for some ballcock shank washers. Lol!

Never gets old, does it? Lol! Another good part of your idea is that they are lockable and waterproof... If they are like mine, not sure if all ammo boxes are.

My bad, mine aren't either. My dad modded a couple with an eye-bolt through the hole in clasp for a padlock. I think he bored the hole in the clasp to fit a larger bolt. The lock would potentially be loud though.

You could always drill holes at the top close to each other: one on the lid and one on the side and run a pad lock through there. But, as mentioned, it will be noisy and no longer waterproof.
