I believe he was looking for someone on this forum. As stated above- a LOT of stingers on this site. We shouldn't have to dig up a TJ wheeler... This thread should be packed with action pics from forum members, proud to show off both their off-road prowess as well as their front end mods...

As far as a stinger being intimidating on the road?

I think the idea is to pick your lines such that your bumper does not come into play.

On the other hand, anyone that has parked in Chinatown (Boston) has had their bumper used. Great drivers around there.

Stingers are butt ugly and dangerous on the open road in my opinion, yeah useful for a rock crawler but other than that?

If you like the look that's reason enough, that's one of the main reasons I got a Jeep I like how they look as much as what they can do. I do go off road but I always keep in mind it has to take me to work on Monday to.

I don't like stingers and I may never Krawl a rock, not a lot to be found in south Alabama, but I have a stubby all the same and I will have 35s. I don't consider myself a poser either. I can say that when I get a winch it will be used but hopefully not to pull me out.

Didn't mean to rant sorry and I'd love to see some acton pics for stingers but since they are designed to prevent front end roll overs, how often could that come up anyway the pic I seen in this thread I've seen before but it's the only one.

That is why I can't wait to get some heavy duty front and rear bumpers. Then put a sticker in the back that says to the effect of "Go ahead, tailgate me"

Heck, maybe that is why they are called "stingers"
