Nah . . . that, imo was just a stupid comment. There are other mfg's whose sport cage does not interfere w/ the tweeters performance.
FWIW . .. . The OP did respond saying that it did not. Which was the question I asked. Someone who does not own that cage would not know for sure if it did or not would he? He was assuming that I was considering only the tweeters not the function of the cage. My opinion is that if I was buying a "sport cage" yes I am considering the effects of the tweeters. If I wasn't concerned, I would buy a full custom cage w/ frame tie-on.
