I had the same issue. I torqued the shit out of it... then first time I used it, the retaining clip started to move around (I had to let out a lot of line). I contacted Engo, and they sent a new shorter screw... but I have just been using a washer on the old one.
Question though... what are you doing for the winch controls?

I spent a few hours this weekend installing my new MCE fenders and boy do I LOVE them.
Unboxing the front fenders
The removal of the original fenders and prepping for the installation
Pre-install with the fender clamped to the Jeep to mark the drill hole locations
The metal MCE support for the front of the fender
Front fender installed

I added some LED side markers today that I bought off eBay.
I had to drill my new MCE fenders so I made sure to measure and recheck multiple times.
I then clipped the side marker connector and spliced the wires together with butt connectors. Note that the LED wires were very small so I stripped extra room at the end and then fold the wire over multiple times so it would fit snugly in the butt connector.
I made sure I had shrink tubing on the wires to protect the connection
Just testing out the first light. Man these things are really bright.

Here are a couple more shots of the install.
I used some utility clips fro Radio Shack to hold the wire. Sadly they only had white when I was buying... Anyway, this is the test fit before I add more spiral wire protector tubing
Here's one last shot of the install with the lights off
Next mod will be the addition of some LED fog lights I recently purchased...Stay tuned...
