Spent a couple hours today configuring my winch and swapping out the cable for some Viking line. Here are just a couple pics of that work.
With that said, I could not figure out how in the heck to punch through the firewall to run my winch cable. If someone can point me to a thread with some pics or tell me a good place to do this it would be much appreciated as I want o run the remote inside the cab. Thanks.
Apologies for the pics. They were off my phone. The Jeep was a bit dirty as we had quite a bit of rain lately (quite a surprise in the Pac NW ) and I took it a bit off road through some mud.
The first pic is just the positive line I ran from the winch. Had to extend this as it was about 12" too short.
Connected to the battery
The Viking line as shipped
On the winch with the safety thimble
Finally attached the D-rings I have had sitting in my center console for about a year now...

For the folks reading this, just a quick FYI.
The cable line that comes with the Engo winch has a screw retaining clip. This hex screw is actually filled with metal (kinda looks like a weld) such that you are not able to unscrew it with a hex tool. I had to use some locking pliers to unscrew the thing. For the life of me I cannot figure out why they would do this. I think I tossed it but if I can find it I'll take a pic.
Additionally, the Viking line has a really nice retaining clip, hex screw and rubber grommet. The biggest problem is that the screw thread size is different than the Engo one and is longer due to the thickness of the clip. A smart person would simply buy a new screw but that is not me...I just torqued it into the existing hole. While not a perfect fit, I think that puppy is gonna be hard pressed to come loose..

Well, I never thought I would add the following mod but came across a price I could not refuse. Like many on here I was a bit concerned with the ROI for a cold air intake. When I looked into these some time ago I thought that the Airaid CAI was the best "housed" to protect my Jeep from hydro-locking. It has a full enclosure like the stock box but houses the monster cone air filter. When I came across the right price I pulled the trigger and bought it.
While it is too early to see any real benefits I thought I would throw some pics up on the site.
The before pic
Drilling out the rivets
Using a Dremel to cut the original air intake
Using silicon to firmly seal any gaps. this is not required but I wanted to make sure that there was a) less heat from the engine coming in and b) less opportunity for water to get in. Now it is sealed seriously good.
The final installed product
Some things to note. The install was insanely easy. The only hitch was the dang temp sensor. Like an idiot I pulled a little too hard and busted the retaining tab off of the sensor which means I had to fabricate a new plastic piece and glue it on the side to be able to hold it in place. In the end I'll need to buy a new one just to be 100% sure it stays in place. Ugh.
I'll let you all know whether or not I really see any difference after I drive through a full tank of gas...

Boy it has been far too long since i have updated this thread. I have a few more mods in progress so I'll post pics of those in the near future. Until then here is a mod I did a while back but forgot to post. Added the EVO ProTek Skid System. Man is this thing beefy. It is really heavy duty. It was kind of a PITA to get installed as getting the bolts to align just right was a bit frustrating. That said, it was a completely simple install...just a bit time consuming. I'll see if I can grab a pic of it installed to add here.
Apologies for the fuzzy cellphone pics.
More to come...

Question though... what are you doing for the winch controls?
