Here's a cell phone pic from over the winter. It's the Thule Gutter rack. Check out the Thule website to see wahat you need. You can put in your vehicle make and model and they'll tell you what you need. Then shop around for better pricing.
You really shouldn't mount to the front freedom panels as per Thule. I guess more likely to come off.

And you shouldn't say bomb on a plane lol. It worked all winter for me. Never had any problems with them coming loose. I'll keep it in mind this winter though. Plus, I need the extra length for my boards. The way it was set up last winter, the carriers just cleared my bindings.

This is mine. I have the Yakima ski adapter that mounts to a two arm 4-bike rack.

just finished installing a recycled cherokee rack on my unlimited, had to cut down rails and cross bars. marked and drilled holes, inserted phillips pan head screws with fender washers from inside cab. sealed with 5200 adhesive sealent. dropped on rails added a washer and cranked a lock nut on. mission accomplished. now to wait for snow........

Had my gutter mounts and Thule box on for over 12000 miles straight, I keep my little giant 22 foot ladder and tools in it. No problems.

Has anyone bought the rails that sit on top then put a snowboard rack on top of the cross top rails?
