Default SmityBuilt Bumper? Got Gas?

]I've finished my jerry can holder for my smitybuilt bumper, I only used a hand drill, dremel, and a file (no welding) Most of the material used can be found at your local hardware store.

I tried it out last weekend and it did really well! I'm very pleased with it.

If there is enough interest in how I did it, I'll post a "how to" thread.

It works just fine for a 35" tire, a 37" would be kinda tight

Sure, I can do that. I'll take some more pics, but, can someone explain how to make the pictures bigger when I post them?

Those are Level 8 wheels with rim guards, I decided on those wheels because I tore my AEV's up, The rim guards I can pull off, sand em and repaint them.

I'm not planning on having the jerry can mounted all the time ( don't want it to get stolen) so this is what the carrier looks like when the can is not mounted.

If you look at the bottom of the mount you will see that the can actually rests on two rubber mounts (these are my original front rubi shock mounts) most of the weight rests here.

The back rests up against two 3/8" all thread covered with rubber fuel line. (I didn't want to here any clunking)

The sides are also 3/8" all thread, coupled with an eye bolt that hangs on the upper mount, The 2" angle iron pulls the jerry can up and back.

The jerry can has a 2"wide piece of scrap metal permanently attached to the center using u-bolts, the other end (with the hole) attaches to the upper mount with a wing nut, this holds the can down and back.

The upper mount is just a 1 1/8 angle iron, attached to the upper most tire mount holes in the spare tire mount.

Here is the Tire mount all the way open to show that the can does not interfere with the tail light assembly
