Default looks great

What is needed if you wanted to change from can holder to a roto pax style ? Not that im going to but nice to know how .
seeing i have the holder and back plate frame , Is it just a matter of buying some type of roto pax adapter and undo the holder and mount it to the frame back plate ?
and didnt i read the can holder will hold 2 rotopax in the holder instead of 1 jerry can ?

You remove the jerry can tray from the base and replace it with a mount from Rotopax. For a second container, Rotopax sells extensions for the mount. It's all here: https://rotopax.com/Mounting-Hardware/.

The side mount base has the necessary holes for the Rotopax mount.

The mount:

and the extension:

Thought I would share my weekend project. I found that the universal tray portion was a little too big in the garage here in California and I use them as my carriers for my rampage storage cans when camping. I took them on and off for awhile but as we approach camping season I wanted a more permanent solution. I used the Crown Jerry can holder and mounted it to the side mount panel. It sticks up a little bit, but good enough for my solution.

And my extra bump stops. This seems to have solved the problem (and I didn't need to add four, I could have just added the bottom two).

Today I was at a military vehicle show and swap meet and spotted this side mount on an M37. Same location as the JK side mount, although the JK side mount doesn't need to be bolted through the fender or braced on the fender flare like this one is .

Have only mounted the passenger side so far. Works great for carrying an extra 5 gallons of fuel. No problems!

Have the driver's side mount and another Jerry can, but... I think for my trips this summer, I'll carry 5 gallons of fuel, and another 5 gallons of water on the driver's side, rather than even more extra fuel. Why not?

I like where it puts the weight on my two-door, between the axles, instead of hanging off the back of the Jeep.
