Almost there. This is from Dave at AEV : Everything has been kicked off with our tool makers, so now its just keeping our fingers crossed that no issues crop up.

Thanks. You should see how weak my tailgate got with that heavy spare. I've got welds popping all over that thing.

Another LOD with Gen II carrier...

Crash...Nice handle grip. Is it a one off make, or can it be ordered?

Only a couple come close to fitting reasonable well. 80% or better have the spare mounted way too high as well as sticking out way too far. What's up with that?

I have a way around that problem and when/if I get the chance/time to make it I'll be sure to share it.
I hear ya on the spare being too high. I cut 3" out of my brothers tire holder, helped out alot.

It's one off, like most of my stuff, but it can be reproduced.
I took one if the extra billet motorcycle grips I had lying around, sanded and painted it.
I filled it with JBWeld (the putty, not the liquid), slid it on, trimmed the excess, and let it dry.
Camp Crocker gave me the idea, but his is prob better, as he welds a pipe onto it, then puts the grip onto the pipe.
