It does look kinda white. The digital pic got really washed out when I downsized it. That and the iPhone camera I took it with. I promise it's tan.
I used Plasti Dip (Home Depot, spray can, $6). I posted in the "Black Jeep emblem" thread. Just spray a few coats and peel off what you don't want (from the grill). It's easier than removing the letters, painting, and reattaching. I've heard of it lasting over a year with no problem. And if it does get dinged, just reapply.
