What shocks did you go with? I was between some cheap-o's and some bilsteins. I ended up going with the bilsteins, but I was not worried about the ride quality as my rig is not a DD and usually only sees trails and the casual weekend cruise.

My 08 JKUR with the beginning install of a RK 5.5 X factor long arm. I can't say enough about these systems.

Gotcha. I have many friends who go through bilsteins on their juggies(half jeep half buggy) that they got to the point of buying cheap shocks bc it became so expensive to replace after a few trips. I've never heard of anyone with issues on a regular jk, but I went with them anyway. I doubt I will run into their issues, but just wanted to see what others were doing.

I have a few buddies that run them with no issues on their JKs. But I think there are better shocks out there lol I have no idea what I want

I hear ya! For the type of wheeling I do in surround states, they get beat up pretty bad. My rubicon express shocks are beat to hell and rusted on the bottoms. I really have no need (at this point) for a better shock than a blistein. I really can't wait to see how much better the jeep will ride. I've read with the setup I have, it will be better than stock or comparable. The RE lift has a horrible/ruff ride and I have the mono tube shocks. I'm so pumped to do this install!

It will ride better than stock. I went from stock to the 2.5" max travel and it made a world of difference.
