A Toyota Avalon pulled out in front of me while I was doing about 40 mph. I hit the brakes and swerved but still hit just in front of her front driver's side wheel with my front passenger side. while the damage looks moderate, they had to replace the hood, both fenders, the grille, the front axle, front driveshaft, and the rest of the front passenger suspension. The bill to her insurance was $10,000 or so. Her car was totalled.

judging by the rollover pics, an upgrade to the factory roll bar should be the very first mod done to your JK, especially if you plan to wheel. i cant believe how folded up those things are. i was in a YJ that rolled with the factory cage, and it held up surprisingly well. those pics are scary!

Do we know how well the cage would hold up even after adding an aftermarket bolt-on? It doesn't look like the tubing failed but the mounts surely did. To me, it seems, that unless you build a cage from the ground up it is just going to topple like Jenga blocks except with an aftermarket "sport cage" there would be more bars to keep your head off the asphalt.
