Default Sahara Fender Flare Chop

Well... I hit a pole, which you can see here :

https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-show-tell-33/pole-got-me-55631/

Also cracked my sidestep which I am going to replace with Schrockworks Rock Sliders.

Most of the white paint seen on my fender wiped off, but the fender was missing just a bit of paint, which was all the excuse I needed to hack them up!

Here are some pics. I used tape to mark where I wanted to make my cuts. Used a Jigsaw which cut through the fender like butter (Jigsaw Blade type = thin metal, although the fenders are plastic) I also painted black some small blocks of wood to put between the metal brace and the fender just to give it a little support & to prevent against future sagging or any extra flapping in the wind. I did not put any of the original plastic wheel well lining back on.

Now I need to wear out these tires to put some 33's on.

Haven't decided yet weather to do the back fenders to match - Thoughts?

Looks OK, but something needs to be done with the turn signals.

Looks nice and a great way to "fix" running into the pole

Not sure about the back ones as we don't see a picture of both at the same time. I suspect it would look best to match the chop front and back.

Yah, I thought I took a picture of the whole car, but can't seem to find it now. I'll take another when I get back home.

Regarding the flapping - I don't notice any difference in noise. The block I put under the fender should help - I don't think the fender is moving much at all during driving. Bigger tires is a must!

As far as the turn signals... Can someone confirm these are tied into the turn signals? I can't figure out when these things turn on or do anything.

Anyone have ideas on how to better mount the turn signal? How do they do it for the tube fenders?

Yes.

Definitely will take more pics - I need some opinions on the back now. I am leaning towards doing them, but my brother thought it looked good how it was right now.

Sorry, I do have a pic that shows the front & the back together.

Default Nice Job

Been waiting for someone to chop up the sahara flares so I could see it. Even better that it's Jeep green. I think you should definitely do the back ones to complete the look.

While you're at it, could you bedline the grill so I can see what that looks like too? LOL.
