I thought the deer had survived the wreck but came to find out it was found dead about 2 tenths of a mile away.

oh man I am sorry! Every single night when I drive I come inches away from hitting a deer...I actually almost blasted a huge buck about an hour ago...I HATE them

Sorry about that bro, but SLC gave you some good advice. I was able to upgrade a buncha stuff on mine by taking it to a local body shop and them working with me.

How come it needed to be towed, was there more extensive damage than the body damage evident from the pictures? I just ask because I hit a deer in my wife's car a while back and the body damage was extensive (actually fairly similar to yours) but we continued on our trip because there was absolutely no mechanical damage other than a headlight and turn signal being out.
Anyway glad you are alright and I hope your JK gets repaired soon!

Sorry about the crash.. I feel your pain though, I had to watch mine drive away on a flatbed once as well, except a puddle took out my motor and trans. I wish it was a deer.
