Rugged Ridge Relocation Brackets
Pictures of the Rugged Ridge mirror relocation brackets after installation.
Very easy to put on, they look pretty cool, and I havent noticed any vibration, but Ive only been on the hightway, since I just put them on. Hopefully I will be able to hit some trails this weekend and really put them to the test.
My only complaint, and I honestly may them them installed incorrectly, is that the passenger side mirror doesnt provide much of a view because the wondow pillar is in the way.

I read the reviews saying that, but the lack of vibration, and giving the cops one less reason to pull me over, were the reasons behind why I went with these.
Now, I wonder if the relocation brackets will get in the way of the Gobe roof rack I want to get...

Mirrors stuck on factory post!! Please Help!
Hey guys, I need some real help on this one.... I bought the Rugged Ridge relocation brackets but I cannot for the life of me get the mirrors off the factory base...
I just bought a '10 JK Unlimited as my first Jeep, and I am about beating my head against the wall with this thing... I tried leaving the bolt in an tapping with a hammer.... which leads to tapping harder and harder until Im hitting it honestly way too hard, and bolt is hard to remove which makes me know that I am damaging the threads....
Im about to bust out the Dremel and cut the base off, I cant think of any other options...
Please help Im dying to get these things on!

Pull the bolt out completely with the mirror still mounted on the door, then tug at the mirror, and if necessary hit it with a mallet. One side came out with a tug on my Jeep, the other side needed some mallet massaging

I had Em on my 2door and with the doors on you only get 50% of the mirror. But like someone else said, that's the trade off for not vibrating. Those things are solid. I have Olympic safari mirrors and the vibrate like a MoFo. They verge on being truly useless.

There were threads a few years back on how to get the mirrors off the factory mounts. I installed these (on the driver side only BTW!) when my jeep was brand new and it was still a major PITA to get the mirror separated from the factory mount. The aluminum oxidizes and fuses the parts together.
I wound up unscrewing the bolt, but not all the way, just about an inch. Then hitting the head of the bolt with a hammer to free the mirror. Warning: if you remove the bolt completely and try lifting the mirror off, it's been known to suddenly come free and whack you in the face!
When I'm doorless, I only have the drivers due mirror. That's legal (cars didn't used to even offer two outside mirrors years ago). As mentioned above, the passenger side bracket location is basically useless. This way I have good visibility with doors on, which is how I drive on the street most of the time.
